Chair: Leslie Sproule

 

Leslie has a passion for coach education and promoting the role coaches play in the community and the sport system. She has 32 years of coaching experience in the sport of Synchronized Swimming; including 2 Olympic Games. Leslie has consulted in 21 countries worldwide and currently coaches in Canada and abroad. As a volunteer her roles includes; Chair of Coach Alberta, Board member of Coaches of Canada and a zone 4 (Canada) representative on the UANA TSSC (Pan American Technical Synchronized Swimming Committee).

 

 

Vice Chair: Ozzie Sawicki

 

Ozzie has 21 years coaching experience in Alpine Skiing (Able & Para). He coached his athletes to 12 medals at the 2002 Paralympic Games. He was the Coach’s Rep and Mission Staff member for 2008 Paralympic Games. Ozzie was once again the Coaches Rep and Alpine Course Official in the 2010 Paralympic Games.


Ozzie is a Level 4 Para-Alpine Elite Coach and a Chartered Professional Coach ChPC. He also sits on various boards; he is the Chair for Coaches Council for Canadian Paralympic Committee,   Vice President, Coaches of Canada, Board Member of the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation and Alberta Comp-Dev MLF.
Currently Ozzie is the President, Pozitive Results Sport Strategies Inc., Strategic Sport Planning Consulting.


Director: Anne Kromm

 

Anne has 24 years coaching experience from developmental to elite athletes in the sports of Field Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Badminton, Athletics, and Cross Country. Anne is a Former U of Calgary Varsity Field Hockey Athlete and Head Coach. She is a NCCP Level Three certified coach and has participated at Canada Summer Games as both a Coach and Athlete. As a board member with Southern Alberta Women’s Hockey Association she was responsible for scheduling.

Anne has a BPE from the University of Calgary and a BEd from the University of Alberta. She was the Athletic Director at Fort Vermilion School Division and a Social Studies Teacher at Western Canada High School.

 

Director: Cynthya Bringas

 

Cynthya comes from the sport of Gymnastics.

 

 

 

 

 Director: Jason Sjostrom

 

Jason is the current Director of the National Coaching Institute Calgary. His sport background is gymnastics where he competed for the University of Calgary while he worked on his Physical Education degree. Jason is also a gymnastics programmer for the U of C’s Campus Recreation program. His current coaching role is with pre-competitive boys.
 

 

 

Treasurer: Mike Klass

 

Like many coaches, my coaching career started while coaching my younger brother in Saskatchewan. Growing up in small communities was the epitome of the new LTAD model. Everyone played every sport. Working in a variety of capacities in the Sport and Recreation sector has lead me to where I am today, the Executive Director of the Alberta Sport Development Centre– Central located in Red Deer. Mike has been a member of the Mission staff for both Alberta Summer & Winter Games. He is also a Founding Member of the Sport Council of Red Deer.

 

 

 

                         Secretary and Co-Chair: George Multamaki

 

George is currently working as Project Director for the Edmonton Sport Council. His sport background is in wrestling as an athlete and coach. He was enrolled in the CAC coaching apprenticeship program for two years and completed NCCP Level 5 certification in 1995. He coached the University of New Brunswick for six years as well as club programs for elementary-age children to senior athletes.
